OK, the Microchips have been registered, and certificates sent to KUSA. What you guys can do in the meantime is go to:
www.getmeknown.co.za
Register a free account with all your contact details etc.
Once we have the allocations done and contracts signed, you can "request a transfer" and ask me to relinquish the chip onto your profile.... easy! Then the puppy is in your name with your details attached.

To all the prospective puppy owners, I thought that you would like to see the photographs, videos, and updates of the Mackland puppies while they are still with me. These Border Collie & Shetland Sheepdog puppies are lovingly bred and raised in my home. This blog lets me show you step by step how your baby is raised. It highlights each step from mating to 8 weeks old. I hope that you all enjoy reading about them as much as I enjoy having them in my house!

Paperwork
OK... I have started the mountains of paperwork :(..............
And with 1 export in the litter, it is doubled EISH
Little Holly (Black girl) had her first vaccination today, and also had her microchip inserted, with only a tiny little peep. She was so good at the vet!
The rest will be done tomorrow at home (I don't like taking an entire litter into the vet.. people all come running and want to touch when all I want to do is get out as soon as possible with minimal contact) So the remaining 6 pups will be done by the vet nurse. (The export needs a vet's signature on the paperwork)

Inside area
Some of you guys have been asking to see the pups inside area. Well, here it is. It has a crate in the corner (next to my 2 boys crates). In their crate is a mattress and some nice thick blankies. The floor is newspapers (they like to pee on newspaper when they have no grass). The water bowl (aka swimming pool) has an absorbent rag under it (for obvious reasons). There's also a dog bed for those that want to lie outside the crate. In the opposite corner to the sleeping crate is a fake grass patch on a special tray... for wees and poos... lovely to clean (NOT)
STARS Coefficient of inbreeding
Thought the new owners of the STARS may be interested in this.
You may have to click on it to read it....
You may have to click on it to read it....
This is from the KUSA site, showing the percentage of inbreeding in this litter. It is 0% - so it's a total outcross. There are no related dogs going back 11 generations.
It is not something I have done before. I like typey dogs, linebred, to lock in type.... so basically, this litter is a lucky packet! hehe
It is read from left to right and shows the first 5 generations. Males in grey and females in white, and male on top and female below - so eg: on the lefthand side Maverick is on top and Finn is below, then in the second column are their parents, third column their grandparents etc

Dewormer is ready!
I have the more hardcore dewormer ready for the pups' 6 week mark on Friday... I am sure that they won't be too charmed!
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get photos last evening... when I brought the pups inside from their outside run... They were FILTHY!!! This evening I will let them in and then I need to attend a meeting, so hopefully they will dry off and can be brushed out... and then Sam will pop over to help me with the pics!
The pups were WILD this morning, screaming blue murder - their run is no longer big enough for them! I will pop off home in a bit and change their surroundings again.... EISH

Pups in a new section of the run
The pups have been moved today - they are flattening my grass at a rate of knots! The neighbouring run is bigger but doesn't have as much grass on the 1 side. They also have access to see the rest of the dogs in my yard... see how happy Patch is to visit a sheltie at the fence!!!
This was lunch (Monday):
Interesting to note - Patch isn't as heavy as some of the girls... and the sizes are more even now... he is not that much bigger!

Stars litter
I am gearing up for the Stars next milestone.... inoculations, microchips and registrations! That will be at 6 weeks - THIS FRIDAY! Time is flying!
Their vaccinations have already been bought... they will get them this weekend. Microchips were bought some time ago, and will also be inserted this weekend. Once that is done, I will apply for their KUSA registrations.
