23 September 2011 - 8 Puppies!!

The puppies are here - 4 boys and 4 girls! OOPS... wait... 5 boys and 3 girls!

Labour started at 3am and we are finished and resting now at 10pm!

Almost time...

Okay, we had a drop in temperature last night... and Chakotay was very restless. She has been whining a little and it may start soon.. or so I thought. This morning we were all for eating Aussies and playing with the sheltie...



Chakotay's whelping room

Chakotay's whelping room is all up and running. Everything is ready.... just the heater to be added. Notebook, pen, thermometer, clock, camera, medical supplies, bedding, baby gates, my bed.... sjoe!

Progress…

At 8.5 Weeks pregnant, Chakotay weighs a WHOPPING 23.9kg….. (her usual weight is 18kg)

Her temperature this morning is a cool 37.6°C

And her girth is 800mm (that is more than me!)

We can see 7 babies.... hope there aren't more hiding!!

Chakotay is trying her best to have a nest under the house. Time to fill in the holes, me thinks!

Chakotay at 8 Weeks..!

At 8 weeks pregnant, Chakotay is a roly poly Hippopotamus! Chakopotamus!

At 7.5 weeks pregnant, Chak is on the following:

Breakfast - 1x egg and unappetising pellets

Snack - Chicken necks

Lunch - Hills AD or steamed fish

Snack - chicken necks

Supper - More unappetising pellets and chicken hearts 

Snack - tuna or pilchards

Chakotay at 7 weeks

We had a little outing this weekend and Chak came with us and posed for a few pics. She is getting a little uncomfortable, and is quite restless.



Expanding tummy

Chakotay got a bit of a grooming last night and posed with her tummy for me :)

Playtime...!

It doesn't stop!!! Every night I am presented with a multitude of toys that I am expected to entertain her with... and heaven help anyone else that would like to interfere!



Chakotay - 6.5 Weeks

Chakotay is a little roly-poly at 6.5 weeks. She is finding it a bit difficult to get comfortable. She is also VERY soppy and lovable and demands attention!



Breakfast...

Chakotay is still enjoying her hearty breakfast of pellets and scrambled egg, with steamed fish for lunch and pellets for supper.... with chicken necks/ livers as a late snack :)

MMmmm...

There's a HOLE under the house!

Chakotay has started making nests everywhere..... this is today's one:



6 Week Scan

This evening we had another scan :)
Very informative! We could see hearts and sculls and spines... even eye sockets and brains!!

Chakotay started to show at 5 weeks, and she is bigger than before!
