Weekend

The pups were set free and attacked me in the lounge!

They were given a bigger pen outside for 2 days, and were soon pooped and passed out!

The pups have gone onto thicker, lumpier version of their Hills food. It's going down well.

Sunday extended pen!

G decided to have a little playtime with the babies!

Friday..!

Today we tried a bit of pumpkin! Not a great hit, but at least they tried it. But they were definitely happier when I brought in their PROPER food!

We also did the deworming today... eeuw! There were a few little puppy worms in the stool, which I caught and inspected. The 6-week Drontal dewormer should finish the deworming protocol until their second vaccination date.

The pups were then set free on the lawn while I enjoyed a brandy & coke... they loved the interaction with my other dogs!

Someone, however, has a death wish...........

This evening, the pups have joined me in the lounge, but they are pretty pooped form the day's adventures!

While they sleep, I am extending their pen in their room as a surprise to them for when they wake up!
(The low bit is for mom to get in, should she ever feel the need..........)

Puppy freedom!

The pups really liked having more of the grass available to them this afternoon!

Personalities

Well now... the personalities are starting to show!
These are very early observations, and lots changes each week!

BLUE BOY
Fastest pup across the whelping box before the speed wobble hits and he plops over. Quite a character, and animated.

TEAL BOY
He is a bit of a cry baby, mommies boy right now. He likes to snuggle with his mom, and be handled & cuddled by people.

LIME BOY
Mister tug-master! First pup to play tuggie and shake it all over the place! He drags the toys around and is perhaps an Agility prospect - I will keep my eye on him.

PURPLE BOY
Very lovable boy, friendly and sweet. Sits back and watches the action before joining in. Then he is quite vocal.

RED GIRL
The most independent puppy. Once the pen door is open, she is the first one out and making her way across the lawn. A bit growly at times if she's restrained...

Today was supposed to be deworming day, but I picked the dewormer up from the vet too late (I'm not that silly as to give it to them in the evening and then tomorrow morning it will look like a seal has emerged from the poo swamp and smeared the contents all over...). I will give it to them tomorrow morning and then put them outside hehehehe

Wednesday & Thursday @ 4 weeks

The pups are enjoying the outdoors more and more. It's almost time to extend their outside pen.

They are quite intrigued by my other dogs playing in the yard and stand yapping at them through the fencing.

Currently we go out twice a day, depending on the weather, for about an hour each time.

Today the pups got food that wasn't blended as much as previously. It was more lumpy, and thick... so that we can eventually get them onto pure solids by 8 weeks. Their teeth are coming through, and I am getting nibbled on!

Journey loves clean-up time after a meal, she gets let into the pen and eats up the mess in the grass and on the bedding. Of course the pups take the opportunity to have a quick shack on her too!

After the time outside today, we got to be in a 3rd pen - this time in the lounge with me and the other dogs.

G and daddy, Reece hung around quite a lot to see what was going on!

Yoghurt treat

First yoghurt treat for the pups - they went nuts!

Christmas lunch

We had lunch on the deck today!

Christmas day

The pups really love their fur beds! Perhaps I need to get some more... Also I need some cat toys that jingle - they seem to like the bell in the tunnel. Today the rest of the toys are in the washing machine as my Christmas morning surprise was a pile of poo-smeared toys!

Later they will be going out onto the deck... it is just a bit windy at the moment.
