Ditto & Supermodel teach Tank...

Allocations

Okay.. the allocations are under way. So far 4 pups have been allocated to their new owners over the weekend. The remaining 4 will be decided upon shortly :)

They won't be announced here, but I will rather leave it to each new owner to announce which is their pup!

But I can say that 1 pup is staying at Mackland to do Agility, Dog Jumping and breed...

Day 34 - My return

Sounds

A few days ago I did a little sound test. No one was bothered until it was metal against metal. I used the food dishes to have a look at who was a bit sensitive to it. No one was scared, only Tank, Jet and Bart didn't like it and moved further away and sat and watched me. I decided to do it again today, and I was mobbed! They all followed me around the yard while I made quite a racket! So we have no sissies here! I guess they reckoned that they were going to be fed again!

Day 34 - Breakfast

The pups are now on soft pellets, as of yesterday. They devour them at a rate of knots! Currently they are up to 3 of these meals a day, plus 2x 'meals' of goats milk.. PLUS mommy's titty-bar!!

And then there is Celine.......

I have been so busy trying to match each puppy to the perfect owner that I realized that I have been  neglecting my own choice!! Not wanting to get too attached to the 3 girls until I knew more about them, has been HARD to say the least!!!

After watching them over these first 4 weeks, I haven't a CLUE which will stay with me. Their personalities are developing and they are all so wonderful! But THIS I know for sure: they will ALL work! I can definately see it this early, and so I must stick to my original plan and choose purely on structure, overall build, bone, solidness, and what is best for the future of any Mackland breeding. I want working dogs that are built to last, and that are only a pleasure to look at... while working and not! So for that only a little more time will tell, so I am not rushing into anything!

A few posts ago I let Supermodel out as she was the first girl to display some independance. She is outgoing, cheeky, cute, sassy, inquisitive, playful.. and I can go on... I love her!!!

But today I decided to look at another girl... Celine. I let her out this evening to roam the house, just to watch what she got up to. And of course she was up to little things in no time! After investigating the entire house layout, she decided that the sheltie was as cool as her sister said she was, and initiated a game! (of course the obliging sheltie was all too eager to share her half-a-tug!). Below is a little video of their game.

So what on earth is in store for tomorrow when I let Mel out to have a look-see??? hehehehehe

The Great Escape...

Well.. adventures in the night! I woke up at 1:30am to a "mouse" in the house... a little squeak, I listened.. silence, then another little squeak. It occurred to me that the pups had escaped from their room, so I switched on the light and got out of bed... had a good look around.. NOTHING. All the dogs were lying in their spots in my room, and nothing was out of place. I decided to take a little walk up the passage to check everything else... and another little squeak...

In the pups' room, the barrier had been moved slightly, and there was a baby on the outside, loyally propped up against the gate, waiting patiently to join his brothers and sisters. I put him back, as well as the barrier, and before I left, as usual did a head count... 1,2,3,4,5,6,7... OK so I counted again a few times because it WAS the middle of the night... There was definitely 1 missing... So back to my room I went to have a look for the 'squeaker'. All the dogs were still lying in their spots and Chakotay had a very guilty look on her face... I leaned in for a closer look (no contact lenses at that time of night) and lo and behold, there were 4 little legs sticking out of her chest! Little Mellie Vanelli was there! She looked up at me, wide awake, almost smiling (damn, you caught me!) hehehe

So it was back to the pen for her, with an extra holder for the fencing.. and I DON'T know how I kept missing the little puppy-doo on the floor that I found this morning!
