To all the prospective puppy owners, I thought that you would like to see the photographs, videos, and updates of the Mackland puppies while they are still with me. These Border Collie & Shetland Sheepdog puppies are lovingly bred and raised in my home. This blog lets me show you step by step how your baby is raised. It highlights each step from mating to 8 weeks old. I hope that you all enjoy reading about them as much as I enjoy having them in my house!

The weekend...
It has been an eventful weekend! The pups have had a few different outside pens, some visitors and they have socialised with my other dogs. I also set them free on the lawn for a few minutes and they decided that they like grass after all! They also have an extension on their whelping box, as well as a small tunnel. Below are some snapshots from the weekend.
Hills puppy and yoghurt...

Friday
The pups are enjoying their yoghurt every day, and also their Hills-porridge! For one meal I mixed the two and they went NUTS!
I took their weights at 3.5 weeks, just for interest sake and they are growing fast!
Today I picked up their food - mom has already eaten an entire large bag of puppy food, and the pups will be going through these pretty fast!
Today the babies spent an hour outside with mom. (I had the day off to do all I need to do!)
They weren't that impressed with the grass, but we will do another hour tomorrow and see!

It is also time that we got some more toys for the babies to bump into and fiddle around with, so I added a lightweight CleanRun ball, and also a small squeaky plastic dumbbell (they howled when I squeaked it!
Next, we got a soft snakey.... well THAT was a hit!!!
They snuggled up to it straight away!

Yoghurt!
The pups' first taste of yoghurt.. and it was a HIT!!
Needless to say, there was yoghurt everywhere....
Rainy Wednesday
The babies were given something new again today.... a newspaper surface. It is a bit chilly so they have their continental pillow and duvet under the heater. Their pod is now in the whelping box.
The front of the open area is covered up because some skinny-heads can still poke through!
