Here are the names that I have been given by new owners of the STARS:
Black = Holly
Spider = Topaz
Jane = Brynn
Puzzle = Samora
Patch = Dallas
Bandit = Triss
Bonus = Star (tbc)
To all the prospective puppy owners, I thought that you would like to see the photographs, videos, and updates of the Mackland puppies while they are still with me. These Border Collie & Shetland Sheepdog puppies are lovingly bred and raised in my home. This blog lets me show you step by step how your baby is raised. It highlights each step from mating to 8 weeks old. I hope that you all enjoy reading about them as much as I enjoy having them in my house!

Piranhas!!!
I decided to get some meaty bones to keep the pups occupied and not scream at me...
SUCCESS!
SUCCESS!
They are piranhas!!
Tablets
In your puppy packs, you will see some tablets. These are DRONTAL tablets for a follow-up deworming. They are to be given on FRIDAY 03 JUNE 2016 (both tablets in the pack supplied)
This is what it will look like in your packs:
Toys
New BC owners are preparing all over South Africa to receive their puppies...!
This haul is intended for the lucky puppy going to Cape Town (Bandit)
Blankets and breakfast
I got a little creative with their breakfast this morning.. they had a full dish of pellets at 6am, and then at 7am I mixed their yoghurt with some water and made a slush, and put it with their second cup of pellets... they LOVED it. See video below!
Lots of slurping sounds (please excuse the neighbourhood dogs barking in the distance, it's not my lot - except for a small chirp occasionally from Journey)
Last night I finished the pile of paperwork for all the pups folders, and also smelled up the blankets with Finn's help...
...and then she went into the puppies outside pen and stole their jingle rattle!

Chaos
It's hectic at home at the moment - all the pups seem to have Maverick's horrible voice!!! The worst of the bunch are Bandit and Puzzle! NOT shy to scream for what they want! (mostly food, or mom, or attention). Half the front yard is cordoned off for the puppies, but when I go into the house 2 pups keep following me in and I have to watch where I step! They plop over the fencing (half a metre high!), cross the lawn, onto the deck, up the steps and into the house to find me..... Spider and Patch!
The pups will be getting their first baths tomorrow (let's hope the yelling doesn't extend to the bathing!). They will also be getting their collars on, so those getting their pups this weekend, don't be alarmed by some scratching action at their necks! I wasn't able to put them on this past weekend due to the state of the Muddy puppies ...you all would have gotten pups with brown collars hehehe
I have received lots of pictures of items being bought for pups.. here's the latest (This is for Bandit):

Lunch
We could go out on the lawn at lunchtime! Pups were WILD!
after 1 dish of lunch, they got the second portion in a Kong Wobbler.... this vexed them for about 5 seconds, then they were all over it!
Then I threw in a brand new hoof for Finn.... And there was a scuffle for it!
Bonus was the winner!
Miserable morning
It's a miserable day, drizzling and cool, so the poor pups had to stay inside. But after 2 hours it seemed like it was clearing nicely so I went home and made a pen for them on the deck just as the sun started filtering through. Not sure if it was going to rain again or not, so I thought that was the safest plan. They seemed to like it!
Breakfast treat
...a nice pumpkin treat for everyone at breakfast time today!
It is raining so all pups had to stay inside this morning.... so I threw in a few carrots for them to gnaw on...
Weights
Sorry, everyone, I thought I posted this already.... eish HECTIC here!
The 6 weeks weights were taken just over 6 weeks...

The Wanderer
Last night as I was doing a photo shoot of Jack Russells in my lounge... who should make an appearance??? Yep, Mackland Wandering Star.. aka Mr Patch (now called Dallas). He came tottering in from the deck and made himself comfortable next to the sheltie crate to watch the proceedings!

Bigger puppy area!
Breakfast outside.... please excuse the LEAVES - PE wind, and no garden service!
And the pups aren't as clean as they look! Full of dirt from rolling in the non-grassed area! Friday is bath day!

Update
One of the pups has very loose stools, so it was off to get come Protexin to add to their lunch... none of them seemed to mind it!
Their food is now very lumpy and they are chewing quite a bit.
And then, we are all set for collars after the weekend. I was hoping to give them each a bath too, but will play it by ear...
They are also getting this smashing toy tomorrow!
